I think there’s a couple things you can do on Facebook with video that are quite kind of strategically clever.
In terms of online video, we talk about a short amount of time, ten or fifteen seconds to make a good first impression.
On Facebook videos it’s like a second or a second and a half as the person’s thumb kind of slides up past your video, which is kind of auto-playing without any sound.
So you need to make it visually interesting, definitely, and you also need to make it relevant to someone who’s discovering it when they’re checking their Facebook. People are there for social reasons to check out what’s happening, what’s going on, find out what’s new.
So you should use it in those kinds of ways, to update people and entertain, and do things that are more light-hearted and more shareable.
Of course shareable is pivotal, really important.
